Work taken from the portfolio containing 6 plates of the book ”L'Eneide di Virgilio di Luigi Ratini" (“The Aeneid of Virgil by Luigi Ratini”): Juno and Aeolus, The tempest – The wrath of Neptune, Jupiter and Venus, Aeneas admires the city of Carthage, Aeneas introduces himself to Dido, The banquet – Aeneas and Dido. The frontispiece of the Virgilian poem is illustrated by Luigi Ratini featuring the bust of the hero, with his face turned left and an extremely muscled neck. The title is above the image and below it an introduction to the work . Bibliography sheet taken from "L Eneide di Virgilio illustrata da Luigi Ratini" curated by Michelangelo Lupo (catalog of the exhibition held at palazzo delle Albere in Trento in 1982).
