A masterpiece and very rare work by Domenico Cantatore, realized after returning from his first stay in Paris where he went from 1932 to 1934 (see the label dated 1935 on the reverse): here he gets to know the Impressionists, Modigliani, Picasso, Matisse and the painters of group of the Fauve group (the Beasts). Henri Matisse in particular becomes the first reference for Domenico Cantatore, in fact in those years the influence of the French painter emerged in him with a palette that had become light and luminous: once returned to Milan, in those years Cantatore exhibited at Galleria del Milione and at the Venice Bienniali, which dedicates entire walls to him; also the Rome Quadriennale gave him entire rooms in those years. The work here at auction fully embodies the pictorial canons of the Cantatore of that period!
