The work was executed in 1965, year in which he participated in the exhibition "The Responsive Eye" at the MoMA - Museum of Modern Art in New York. In 1966 he presented a second solo exhibition at the Venice Biennale with this kind of works: monochrome canvases covered with linear textures that bring him closer to American minimalism; the following year he worked with Giuseppe Ungaretti at the volume La Luce (a collection of 20 of his poems with 14 large lithographs) for the Galleria Im Erker di San Gallo, Svitzerland, establishing an artistic partnership.
