Certificate of authenticity by Luigi Menegazzi with long expertise and attached declaration. Certificate of authenticity by Galleria d'arte Anti, Mestre (Venezia)
In the long expertise that Luigi Menegazzi wrote on this work, we read: "The painter, after the war, his imprisonment and a trip to Paris, Belgium and Holland in 1919, being his house in Cisano del Montello destroyed, moved, with his mother, to Noventa Padovana, where he remained until 1922. De Tuoni wrote in July 1922: "Cisano, dear Dario, is on the banks of the Piave, but I live higher up, on the top of Montello, and here in the evening and in the morning I enjoy the panorama of boundless freedom". And again to Nino Barbantini on 3 July 1922: "The house I found is right on top of Montello, where you can enjoy a convent peace and see the whole world from above". In the P.S. of a letter to Barbantini in 1922 De Tuoni says: "I like that little lawn and it reminds me of too many things." If you like it too, I'll give it to you as a present and I'll come to you sometimes "to contemplate" it, as you are in the habit of saying ". Perhaps the small lawn is what we see in the painting in question, which ends with the house at the top of the slope beyond which the pictorial space is crossed by a green barrier made by the bizarre succession of graphic rhythms like the waves of the sea, it recalls the undulating profiles and soft volumes of a group of Asolo landscapes from the years 1912-1913.
