“Scena agreste” (“Rural scene”), rare work by Dora Bassi in glazed ceramic, created in 1967 on commission of the Cassa di Risparmio di Trieste, where it had been on display for many years before returning to the Bassi family Collection. In a delicate balance between classical and modern, the bas-relief was made during the most prolific period of the great Friulian artist ( Demetra of '69 and Folla of '68 belong to the same period), who was professor of Sculpture at Brera Academy in Milan for many years together with Dino Basaldella, the sculptor from Udine. Two bas-reliefs by Dora Bassi same period, same dimensions and same material are exhibited to this day in the Church of St. Andrew in Gorizia.
